Beatrice Allen

October 25, 1922 — February 11, 2015

Beatrice Mode Allen completed her earthly journey and went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 11, 2015.
She was born October 25, 1922 the daughter of John and Mary Mode of Cleveland County. For 42 years she was the wife of the late Bill F. Allen and is survived by her son Larry Allen and his wife Debbie of Polkville, daughter Libby Allen Frei and her husband Doug of Hickory, one granddaughter Jennifer Allen Canipe and her husband Brian of Shelby along with two great grandchildren, Jackson and Libby Canipe, one sister Margaret Greene of Huntersville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bea, as everyone called her, was best known as co-owner of The All-Da Barbecue where she worked with her husband and son for over 50 years. She was well known for her pound cakes and egg custard pies. Her spiritual gift of service was well developed and regularly used as she enjoyed serving others - always avoiding the lime light being cast in her direction. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Shelby and the Faith & Love Sunday School Class
where she worshiped and served for over 60 years. Bea was a devoted Christian, loving daughter-wife-mother-grandmother and great grandmother and served well over her 92 years. She will be missed by many and forever loved.
Funeral service will be held in the Webb Chapel of First Baptist Church, Shelby on Saturday February 14, at 2:00pm with the Reverend Perry Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Elizabeth Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:30pm prior to the service.
The family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to all those who have helped us care for Mother and supported us with prayers over the past 15 months with special recognition to Kay Tester our faithful friend and caregiver and Noelle Stephens, RN with hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road - Newton, NC 28658 or First Baptist Church of Shelby.
