Betty Mcmurry

Betty Ruth Turner McMurry, 87 of Shelby, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Willow Ridge Rehabilitation and Living Center in Rutherfordton.
She is survived by a son, Larry McMurry and wife Deborah of Shelby, NC, two grandchildren, Clint McMurry of Shelby, NC, and Eric McMurry and wife Summer of Asheville, NC, four great grandchildren, Aidan, MaeLee, Joscelinn, and Lochlain McMurry.
Born January 9, 1930 in Cherokee County, SC, Mrs. McMurry was preceded in death by her husband, Harrill Blanton McMurry and a son, Gary D. McMurry.
Mrs. McMurry was a faithful member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed going out and taking care of her son Gary.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Paul Sorrells and Rev. Phil Hughes. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
