Catherine Mowery Poston

Mrs. Catherine "Cathy" Mowery Poston, age 68 of Shelby, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.
She is survived by her children, Leah Burroughs and husband Justin of Ft. Mill, SC, and Candice Beam and husband Clint of Shelby, NC, five grandchildren, Abby Beam, Molly Beam, Kinley Burroughs, Hayden Burroughs, and Blakeley Burroughs, two brothers, Vince Mowery and wife Linda of Shelby, NC, and Dale Mowery and wife Pat of Boiling Springs, NC, four sisters, Mary Crocker of Venice, FL, Claire Nell Way of Gastonia, NC, Debra Huffman and husband Mark of Grover, NC, and Cathie Norvell and husband Bill of Westminster, MD, a brother-in-law, Ronnie Poston of Shelby, NC, a sister-in-law, Norma Poston of Shelby, NC, her step-father Roger Proctor and wife Nancy of Kings Mountain, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born October 3, 1950 in Cleveland County, Mrs. Poston was the daughter of the late Paul and Martha (Roberts) Mowery and was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Poston and three brothers, Jimmy Mowery, Tommy Mowery, and Jim Proctor.
Cathy owned and operated with her dear friend, Judy Harp, The Eastway Boutique for more than 26 years and later owned and operated The Outer Limits Salon and Spa for an additional 13 years. She loved her clients and co-workers as family. She was vibrant in every way, a beautiful person inside and out. Cathy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughters and her beloved dog, Lolli. She was married to the love of her life, Donald Lee, for 37 years.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Elizabeth Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Andy Oliver. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
