David Lynn Gibson

   Mr. David Lynn Gibson, age 68 of Shelby, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Atrium Health – Shelby after a short illness.

   He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Terrie Lemons Gibson of the home, two children, Matthew David Gibson (Leah) of Shelby, NC, and Adam Lynn Gibson (Heather) of Pinehurst, NC, four grandchildren, Kessa Gibson, Noah Gibson, Ellie Gibson, and Harper Gibson, a brother, Steve Gibson of Mauldin, SC, a sister, Joan Gibson of Shelby, NC, a niece and nephew and his faithful canine companion “Jake”.

   Born November 19, 1954, in Scotland County, NC, David was the son of the late Eugene “Gene” Gibson and Barbara Worrell Gibson.  David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  David loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.  David worked and retired from Baldor after 30 years of service. He especially enjoyed riding his Harley through the mountains and across the country, and camping anytime he could.
