Doris Mccoy

Mrs. Doris Mae Sisk McCoy, age 79 of Shelby, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Carolina Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Pritchard Alexander McCoy of the home, three children, Jack McCoy and wife Judy of Cherryville, NC, James McCoy and wife Wanda of Shelby, NC, and Billy McCoy and wife Beth of Cherryville, NC, four grandchildren, Mitchell McCoy and wife Doneita, Tracy McCoy Gales and husband Tommy, Kaley McCoy, and Lindsey McCoy, five great grandchildren, Cameron Gales, Brooklyn Gales, Adyson Gales, Chloe McCoy and Zoe McCoy, a sister, Geraldine Morrison and husband Hicks of Mooresboro, NC, a sister-in-law, Melba Sisk of Rutherfordton, NC, two nephews, Eugene Sisk and Vance Sisk, and three nieces, Teresa Webber, Angela Orsky, and Michelle Lail.
Born July 24, 1936 in Rutherford County, Mrs. McCoy was the daughter of the late Rev. Julius Lee Sisk and Rucelle Dorothy (Biggerstaff) Sisk and was preceded in death by a sister, Clara McSwain and a brother, Rev. Thomas Sisk.
Mrs. McCoy was a faithful member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where she worked in many children's ministries including the Good News Club. Doris owned and operated Shelby Pawn and Coin. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her church family.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Paul Sorrells and Rev. Phil Hughes. A visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church Children's Ministries, 123 Beaver Dam Church Road, Shelby NC 28150.
