Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Ruth Davenport Kinmon, 89, of Mooresboro, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at her residence.
She is survived by her children, Dale Walker of New Port Richey, FL, Richard B. Kinmon, Jr. (Lynn) of Shelby, NC, Gene Kinmon (Cathy Morrison) of Mooresboro, NC, and Theresa Evans (Danny) of Mt. Holly, NC, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, two sisters, Ruth Dorothy Blanton (Bobby) of Shelby, NC, and Sally Cote (Wil) of Blacksburg, SC, two brothers, Robert Davenport (Judy) of Glenn Garden, NJ, and Edward Davenport (Marge) of Pennsylvania, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born April 27, 1927 in Pottsville, PA, Mrs. Kinmon is the daughter of the late William Walter Davenport and Sarah Jane Ball Davenport and is preceded in death by her husband Harold Evans, a brother, William Davenport, and a sister, Peggy Jones.
Mrs. Kinmon worked and retired from Kemet Electronics and Fiber Industries. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Andy Oliver, Dr. Andrew Rawls, and Rev. Henry Nichols. A visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:30 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
