Ed Bailey

Mr. Robert Edward Bailey, 84, of Mooresboro, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
He is survived by his son, Rob Bailey of Mooresboro, NC, a brother Buren Ray Bailey of Mooresboro, and a niece, Barbara Small of Mooresboro, NC.
Born May 1, 1932 in Cleveland County, Mr. Bailey was the son of the late Clarence Irvin Bailey and Mattie Bell Gillespie Bailey and was preceded in death by his wife, Louise McCluney Bailey, a brother, Roy Stevens Bailey, and a sister, Mary Bailey Toney.
Mr. Bailey worked and retired from Celanese Fibers in Shelby. He served in the U.S. National Guard during the Korean War. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He enjoyed restoring various pieces of antique equipment. He also enjoyed traveling, aviation, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Cleveland Funeral Services. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church in Mooresboro conducted by Rev. Mike Frazier. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
