Florence Lail

Mrs. Florence Hudson Lail, 86, of Shelby, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.
She is survived by her children, Sheila Earls and husband Stephen of Shelby, NC, Bobby Lail and wife Hilda of Mooresboro, NC, and Kay Drewery and husband Lewis of Shelby, NC, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three brothers, Kenneth Hudson and wife Pat of Casar, NC, Jerry Hudson and wife Frances of Casar, NC, and Gene Hudson of Valdese, NC, three sisters, Nellie Farris and husband Joe of Clover, SC, Dean Chapman and husband Ned of Valdese, NC, and Ethel Ledbetter of SC, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Born February 14, 1930 in Cleveland County, Mrs. Lail was the daughter of the late Cohen Franklin Hudson and Anner Chapman Hudson and was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Roy Marion Lail, five brothers, Elmer, Horace, McKinley, Conley, and Tommy Hudson, four sisters Ruby Padgett, Marie Addington, Bonnie Martin, and Shirley Hoyle.
Mrs. Lail worked and retired from The Lily Mill. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Florence was a simple and loving person who took care of her family. She will be truly missed by those that knew her.
The family would like to express a sincere thanks to Florence's sister-in-law, Wilma Hudson for the loving care that she gave Florence during her extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Cleveland Funeral Services conducted by Rev. Jerry Hudson. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
