Frances Scism

Mary Frances Davidson Scism, 93, a long time resident of Shelby went home to be with her lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 6th @ Valley Falls Terrace Nursing Center, Spartanburg, S. C. Born January 18, 1921 in Cleveland County, Frances was the daughter of William Curtis Davidson and Lucy Abi Allen Davidson.

She retired from Fasco Industries and later enjoyed being a foster grandparent at Jefferson Elementary School. Frances was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and loved her Lord most of all. She spent her life instilling this love in every member of her large loving family.
In addition to her parents Frances was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life A.V. Scism, her daughter-in-law Julie Scism as well as seven brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Scism Sarratt and husband Dean of Gaffney, South Carolina; and three sons, Steve Scism and wife Jenny of Shelby, Bill Scism and wife Claudia of Spartanburg, S.C, Reggie Scism of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Rita Scism of Lawndale, N.C. as well as eight grandchildren Brian Sarratt and wife Pam, Allen Sarratt and wife Lisa, Ava Scism Bradley and husband Boone, Keelie Scism Begley and husband Nate, Beth Scism Britt and husband Lee, Emily Scism, Jonathan Scism, and Michael Scism and wife Nicole. She was also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that brought so much joy to her life.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Cleveland Funeral Services conducted by Susan Wilson. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church, 1165 Wyke Road Shelby, NC or to Hospice of the Foothills 260 Fairwinds Dr. Landrum, S.C 29356
