Gail Ann Swofford

   Gail Ann Jeanfreau Swofford, age 70 of Shelby, NC, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023, at her residence.

   She is survived by her children, Lynn Bourdin (Billy) of Pass Christian, MS, William Swofford Sr. of Shelby, NC, Bridget Henson of Shelby, NC, and D.C. Swofford (Jennifer) of Shelby, NC, 10 grandchildren, Alex Bourdin (Cara), Alicia Bourdin (Whitney), Will Swofford Jr., Meighan Swofford, Tucker Swofford, Brittany Henson, Taylor Haynes (Daniel), Shay Henson (Ally), Dylan Swofford, and Cassie Swofford, eleven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

   Born September 25, 1953, in Lafayette, LA, Gail was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Dwight Colin Swofford and two brothers, Clifford and Earl Jeanfreau.   Gail enjoyed reading books, ceramics, cooking for her family, and spending time with her family and friends.   

   A private graveside service will be held at 3:00pm Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Hollis UMC.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC 28150.
