Harold Deskins

Mr. Harold Douglas "Doug" Deskins of 922 College Ave, Shelby, passed away Friday, March 6th, 2015 at his residence.
Doug was the son of the late Harold Sword Deskins and Mary Jane Williams Deskins. As a young man, Doug served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where he served as a faithful leader of Children's Church.
Survivors include his sister, Lyticia "Tish" Deskins, a niece, Tisha Marie Coveyou of Shelby and an aunt, Charlotte Hicks of Shelby.
A visitation will be in the sanctuary of Poplar Springs Baptist Church at 3:00 pm on Sunday with a memorial service to be held at 4:00 pm with Rev. Andy Oliver and Rev. Ron Allen officiating.
Doug will receive military honors following the service provided by the Foothills Detachment of the Marine Corp League.
