Mr. James Ray Hamrick, age 73 of Boiling Springs, NC, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, December 8, 2014 at Cleveland Funeral Services and Crematory Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
He is survived by a brother, Jack Hamrick and wife Mary of Gaffney, SC, and several nieces and nephews. Born January 15, 1941 in Boiling Springs, NC, Mr. Hamrick was the son of the late Ernest Forest and Lois (Blanton) Hamrick and was preceded in death by a brother, Joe L. Hamrick.
Mr. Hamrick was a member of the Boiling Springs Baptist Church. James graduated Boiling Springs High School. After his graduation, he continued his education at Gardner Webb and NC State earning a Master's Degree in Education. His passion was teaching High School math. He enjoyed going to flea markets, finding hidden treasures and tinkering with electronics

The family would like to express a sincere thanks to the staff of White Oak Manor for the loving care that they gave James.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Height Drive, Shelby, NC 28152.
