James Scism

Mr. James "Jimmy" Scism, age 55 of Shelby, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Alenia Church Scism and his daughter, Courtney Scism of the home, and a sister, Vicki Beam and husband Scott of Shelby, NC.
Born June 23, 1963 in Cleveland County, Jimmy was the son of the late William Charles Scism and Joyce Blanton Scism. Jimmy was a loving husband and father. He worked for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools as a HVAC mechanic. He always enjoyed making people laugh with his sense of humor. Jimmy was a bright spot to many and never met a stranger. He enjoyed working in his garden.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Union Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Michael Shumate and Dr. Ervin Price. A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
