Jerry Glenn Floyd, age 80, passed away on February 7, 2021 at Atrium Health Charlotte.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Yvonne Lima Floyd of Shelby, NC, a daughter, Selina Demetro and husband, Sonny of Shelby, NC, a son, Ritchie Floyd and wife, Patty of Shelby, NC, two step daughters, Heather Walters and Rebecca Gazcowski, seven grandchildren, Alex Demetro, Nicholas Demetro, Cameron Walters, Conner Walker, Cia Reinhart, Drew Gazcowski, and Maddie Gazcowski, four great grandchildren, Savannah Demetro, Anthony Demetro, Isaiah Demetro, and Ren Walters, a brother, Van Roy Floyd and wife, Kathy of Shelby, NC, a nephew, Sean Floyd and wife, Jennifer of Shelby, NC, as well as many cousins and aunts.
Born in Cleveland County on January 6, 1941, Jerry was the son of the late, Robert Floyd and Lillian Greene Floyd.
Jerry was a lifelong member at Sandy Plains Baptist Church. Jerry enjoyed working at PPG where he retired after 43 years. He was an avid Mason when he was younger at Camp Call Lodge #534 A.F. & A.M. in Polkville. Jerry loved sports, playing basketball at Polkville School, as well as golf in his later years.
A Memorial service will be held on February 11th, 2021 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel at 6:00pm with a visitation held one hour prior. The family requests those attending please respect and observe the social distancing standards due to COVID-19.
