John Hornbuckle

Mr. John "Bill" William Hornbuckle, Jr., age 75 of Shelby, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Mark Hornbuckle and wife Dawn of Shelby, NC, seven grandchildren, Erin Hornbuckle of Indian Trail, NC, Cody McLamb and wife Brittany, Tyler McLamb, Blake McLamb, and Makenzie McLamb, all of Ellenboro, NC, and Zoe Lee and Zalie Lee of Shelby, NC, three great grandchildren, Nevaeh Bull, Paislee McLamb, and Zailee McLamb, two sisters, Joyce Scruggs and Nancy Haynes of Shelby, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born September 10, 1942 in Cleveland County, Bill was the son of the late John William Hornbuckle, Sr. and Annie Mae Edwards Hornbuckle and was preceded in death by a sister, Jewel Stewart.
Bill proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, and playing with his dogs, Bucky and Lacey.
A memorial service will be held at 9:30 am Monday, September 10, 2018 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Barry Miles. A visitation will be held from 9:00 - 9:30 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 12:00 pm at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain, NC following the service.
