Karen Latham Good

   Karen Latham Good, age 54 of Shelby, passed away June 5, 2023, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

   She is survived by her children, Latham Cole Good of Charlotte, NC, and Mia Good of Shelby, NC, a grandson by heart, Zane Neal, a sister, Deana Matamoros of Shelby, NC, a nephew, Cody Matamoros, three nieces, Kaidy, Kailyn, and Calyssa Matamoros, and her canine companions, Katie and Zoe.

   Born January 20, 1969, in Cleveland County, NC, Karen was the daughter of the late Billy Dean “Butch” Latham and Brenda Faye Rollins Latham.

   Karen earned an Associates of Science Degree in Respiratory Care and a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy from UNC Charlotte.  Currently she was working as a BSRT, RRT, and RCP at Cherokee Medical Center.  Over the years, she has worked with CRMC in Shelby, ECU Heart Medical Center in Greenville, NC, Queens Health System, Hilo Medical Center, and Maui Memorial in Hawaii, and Brooksville, FL.  Karen loved her children, her friends, and her fur babies.  She enjoyed her adventures, shopping, football, theater plays, and cruises.  She loved being a respiratory therapist.  She was proud of her job and helping people. 

   A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Cleveland Funeral Services conducted by Rev. Shane Adkins.  A visitation will be held from 2:00pm – 3:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.  A private burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
