Kay Rayfield

   Mrs. Kay Patterson Rudisill Rayfield went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 12, 2023, at the age of 79.

   She was the only child born on September 3, 1944, to the late Robert and Evelyn Sipe Patterson.  She was preceded in death by her grandson, SSG. Christopher Rod Newman.

   She is survived by her husband, Tony C. Rayfield.  They were married in October 1999 on top of the mountain in Bostic, NC, and reside in Mooresboro, NC. (2619 Prospect Church Road).  She is also survived by two daughters, Donna Christine Hollifield and Kathy Jean Rudisill Bradley.  One son, Ricky Dean Rudisill. One special son-in-law, Rene Hollifield. Eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, three stepchildren (Glenda, Tonya, & Curtis), eight step grandchildren, and nine step great grandchildren.  Also, special friends, James and Yvonne Russ.

   She graduated from Shelby High School in 1962 and attended Cleveland Community College.  She retired from Miliken in 2005.  Afterwards went to work at Hamrick’s for 17 years until March 2023.  She was a missionary president at Church of Nazarene for 10 years.  She was the minister’s wife from 2010 to 2023 at Church of Nazarene and then Grace Missionary Methodist Church from which he retired from and currently attend.

   A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Grace Missionary Methodist Church, 965 Kelly Road, Forest City, NC, 28043 officiated by Alan Toney and Rene Hollifield.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC 28150.
