Mr. Kenneth Franklin Flowers, 91, rushed into his Savior's arms on Monday, April 19, 2024. A native of Henry County, TN, he was born on November 5, 1932, the son of the late Doss Hudson and Nellie Emiline Barnes Flowers. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Laura Bell Church Flowers, two children, Jeff Flowers and Robin Henderson, one sister, Mary-V Rushing, and three brothers, E.G. Flowers, Dossie Flowers, and Robert Flowers.

Mr. Flowers is survived by one son, Dwayne Church, and wife Lee of Hendersonville, NC, one daughter, Pam Denton and husband Larry of Shelby, NC, one brother, Thomas Flowers of Big Sandy, TN, seven grandchildren, Joseph, Tori, Trent, Laura, Caleb, Sam, and Danielle, five great-grandchildren, Avery, Mackenzie, Melik, Tulsi, and Oliver, and an extraordinary friend, Connie Walker who he deeply cherished, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Fair Haven of Bostic for the care and attention that was given to Kenneth during his time there, they also request any Memorials be given to the Physical Therapy Department of Fair Haven, 149 Fair Haven Drive, Bostic, NC 28018.

He accepted the Lord as his Savior in the fall of 1949 at Bakers Chapel Big Sandy Tennessee. He moved to Michigan and married Laura Church. He was a member of Evangelist Baptist Church. He was an active member of the church. He drove the church bus with his family to collect children all over Detroit. In 1969 they moved to Shelby. He remained an active member in the church within the bus ministry, hospitality, vacation bible school, Senior Choir Amazing Grays, and an usher. He helped wherever needed and it was his calling. The Lord needed a special angel; he was the perfect fit for the position. The Lord said welcome home my good and faithful servant. Rest in my loving arms. He was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Cleveland Funeral Service & Crematory from 5-7 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church, 606 South Dekalb Street in Shelby, officiated by Dr. Tim Sims whom he dearly loved. Burial will immediately follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
