Lark Short Eskridge

March 16, 1953 — February 20, 2017

Mrs. Lark Antionette Short Eskridge, 63, of Shelby, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her husband and friend of 46 years, James David Eskridge Jr. of the home, a daughter, Stephanie Queen and husband Joey of Fallston, NC, two grandchildren, Jordon Queen and fiancé Maggie and Joseph Queen, both of Fallston, NC, a long lost sister, Renae Harwell and husband Mickey of Denton, NC, a sister-in-law, Cornelia Putnam and husband Dan of Shelby, NC, two nephews, Michael Harwell and wife Barbie of Kings Mountain, NC, and Daniel Putnam of Shelby, NC.
Born March 16, 1953 in Cleveland County, Mrs. Eskridge was the daughter of the late George and Omie Harvey Short and was preceded in death by an aunt, Grace Devinney.
Mrs. Eskridge was a member of Mt. Whitaker Baptist Church where she taught vacation bible school. She enjoyed crocheting, riding horses, and spending time with her family and friends.
The family would like to express a sincere thanks to all the friends and members of Mt. Whitaker Baptist Church for all the loving support that they gave Lark.
Following the graveside service, the family invites everyone to attend a meal at Mt. Whitaker Baptist Church in honor of Lark Eskridge.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Cleveland Funeral Services. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Cleveland Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Michael Owen.
