Lemuel Keith Hipps

   Mr. Lemuel Keith Hipps, age 64 of Shelby, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

   Keith is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathy Allen Hipps of the home, his children, Michelle Meier (Aaron) of Shelby, NC, Mary Kathryn Elmore (Nate) of Kannapolis, NC, and Erin Hipps of Shelby, NC, a grandson, Keith Elmore, two sisters, Robin Patrick (Mike) of Shelby, NC, and Kim Ledbetter (Steve) of Shelby, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.

   Born February 4, 1960, in Iredell County, NC, Keith was the son of Jewel Bridges Hipps and the late Lemuel “Lem” Jay Hipps.  Keith was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  He was a faithful member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.  He was the owner/operator of Hipps Roofing Company, Inc., which he started as a teenager with his dad.  

   Keith Hipps was the epitome of what it means to be a man…tirelessly devoted to his family and to God, with a heart of solid gold.  He was beloved by his family, his church, and his entire community, and his enormous physical stature belied the gentle, good-natured giant that he was on the inside.  Keith enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends, especially his grandson, “little” Keith.  

   A visitation will be held from 6:00pm – 8:00pm Friday, February 16, 2024, at Cleveland Funeral Services.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Beaver Dam Baptist Church conducted By Rev. Tom Runyon.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Men on Missions, 123 Beaver Dam Church Road, Shelby NC 28152.
