Libby Black

CHERRYVILLE - Libby Lois Brooks Black, age 89, went home to be with her Savior on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Peak Resources of Cherryville.
Born in Swain County, NC on January 1, 1926, Libby was the daughter of the late Henry Lester Brooks and Elsie Victoria Calhoun Brooks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Amos Thomas Black.
She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Gastonia since 1964.
She is survived by her sons, John Black and wife Heather of Sellersville, Pennsylvania, Thom Black and wife Sherri of Shelby; granddaughter, Carrie Anders and husband Rusty of Holly Springs; and two great-grandchildren, Bayleigh Anders and Jensen Anders.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Gaston Memorial Park with Rev. Scott Whitener officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to: Temple Baptist Church, 701 Littlejohn St., Gastonia, NC 28052
