Lloyd Junior Byers, age 79, finished his race on this earth on September 18, 2018. He was born on September 24, 1938 in Rutherford County.
He was the son of the late Lloyd and Lucille Byers and was preceded in death by 3 infant sisters and 1 adult sister, Sharon Eloise Byers. He is survived by wife, Tita Byers of Shelby; son Andrie Byers and fiancée Rose Anne Magat and grandson Julian Byers of Fayetteville, NC; daughter Lloiann Byers of Shelby; daughter Mimie de Castro, husband Richard, and grandchildren Elliot Jacob, Felicity Anne, and Shelby Loucille de Castro of Lakewood, CA. He is also survived by brother Herman Byers and wife Barbara of Shelby, NC; and sister Mildred Willis and husband Ron of Boiling Springs, NC.
Lloyd was a member of the Church of Christ (Iglesia Ni Cristo) in Charlotte, NC where God chose him as an instrument in the establishment of several local congregations. He served as a Head Deacon for many years and devoted himself to loving God above all things.
A visitation will be held from 5:30 - 8:30 pm Friday, September 21, 2018 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel. A celebration of life will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Cleveland Funeral Services. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
