Marjorie Lee Lancaster Bridges, age 88 of Shelby, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.
She is survived by her children, June Evans of Boiling Springs, NC, and Robin Byrum of Richmond, VA, three grandchildren, Clay Evans (Elizabeth), Melissa Byrum Watson (Josh), and Patrick Byrum (Ronae Redwine), two great grandchildren, Andrew and William Watson, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Born August 10, 1932 in Cleveland County, Marjorie was the daughter of the late Clarence and Maude Hamrick Lancaster and was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman Eugene Bridges, a son, Herman Lee Bridges, a granddaughter, Katherine Ashlee Evans, a brother, Grover Lancaster, and her best friend, Alice Hunt Greene.
Marjorie was a faithful member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Marjorie worked and retired from the Cleveland County School System as a cafeteria worker at Boiling Springs Elementary and Crest Middle School. She enjoyed playing Rook with Ray and Mary Lou Daves and Scoot and Alice Greene.
A graveside service will be held 4:00 pm Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Cleveland Memorial Park.
