Michael Willis

April 7, 1940 — June 15, 2016

Mr. Michael "Mickey" Willis, 76, of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Wendover Hospice House surrounded by his family after fighting a long battle with Alzheimer's.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Smith Willis of the home, children; Dana Willis of Charlotte, NC, and Mike Willis and wife Heather of Shelby, NC, grandchildren; Fallon, Blake, and Stone Willis, brothers; Tommy Willis and wife Jane of Shelby NC, and Jimmy Willis and wife Vickie of Shelby, NC, and a sister, Mary Fee and husband Fred Wright of Shelby, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born April 7, 1940 in Cleveland County, Mr. Willis was the son of the late Buddy Willis and Louise Reviere Willis.
Mr. Willis graduated from Shelby High School. He was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church. Mickey was also a lifelong member of the NRA. He worked as a commercial contractor where he built numerous building in Cleveland County. Anyone that knew him knew he was a jokester. He enjoyed going on cruise ships, his pets, and spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, June 20, 2016 at Cleveland Funeral Services conducted by Rev. Tom Smith. A visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC 28150.
