Mr. Robert Ralph Hamrick was born December 5th, 1939 and died October 7th, 2017 in Boiling Springs, NC. Robert graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1958 and was Salutatorian of his class. After graduation, Robert went to Gardner-Webb Jr. College where his Chemistry professor said, "he had one of the best minds for chemistry he had ever seen." Robert worked for Williams Oil Company and then for Acre Motor Lines as a long-haul driver. He then joined the Air National Guard. In 1964, he joined his brother, Max Hamrick, in forming Hamrick Brothers, a large farming and cattle operation in Cleveland County. They farmed cotton, soybeans, wheat and other crops in addition to a dairy operation. Robert loved farming and people, always ready with a joke and laughter. He loved meeting new people and staying in touch with childhood friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Jabez & Lena Tanner Hamrick. He is survived by his wife, Patty Tallent Hamrick of the home. He is also survived by his son Wesley R. Hamrick and wife Ginger of Boiling Springs, NC, grandchildren Zoe & Tanner, his son Michael N. Hamrick and wife Pam of Kings Mountain, NC and granddaughter Ashlee, his stepson Michael Arthur Tallent and his wife Jannie Lynn and their children Arizona Jade and Michael Alexander Tallent, his brother Max J. Hamrick and wife Jane, his niece Laura Hamrick and her children Max, Alex and Sarah Cherry. To honor Robert's wishes, there will be NO services, his ashes will be scattered across the farmland that he loved dearly and where he spent most of his days.
