Robin Kelley

Mr. Robin Kelley, age 75, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Robin (Bob) Kelley was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Charles and Eva Kelley. He was raised in Wichita, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel (Marie) Kelley. His father Charles Kelley and mother Eva Kelley, daughter, Denise Alston, half-brothers, Don Kelley, Emmett "Speedy" Kelley and half-sister, Essie Jean Kelley, grandson, Brent Michael Kelley, and granddaughter, Kara Alston.
Mr. Kelley married his childhood sweetheart, Hazel (Marie) Kelley. He spent 26 years in the Navy and had seen the world. He and his wife moved to Shelby, NC, in 2004 from Virginia Beach to be near their son and grandson.
Mr. Kelley is a member of New Camp Creek Baptist Church. He is also a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, the VFW Post 9811, and the AARP. Mr. Kelley was in the Cuban Blockade, and in land in Vietnam from February 1967 to February 1968. He has many medals and awards which include the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Merit Citation Campaign, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/Palm Unit Citation, Presidential Unit Citation (2), Sea Service Deployment Ribbons (2) and (6) Good Conduct Awards.
Mr. Kelley is survived by five children, Ronnie Kelley of Tucson, AZ, Rueben Kelley and wife Lori of Shelby, NC, Herbert Albert Kelley of Wichita, KS, Cheryl Mecham and husband Michael of Camas, WA, and Kenneth Kelley and wife Darlene of Portal, GA, 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, siblings, Patricia West and husband Joe, Jim Kelley, Mary Kelley McCracken, and Patti Ann.
Mr. Kelley will be laid to rest with full military honors.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, July 6, 2018 at Cleveland Funeral Services. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 7, 2018 at New Camp Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Richard Stroup. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
