Thomas Hill

Mr. Thomas W. Hill, age 75 of Shelby, NC, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at his home in Shelby, NC. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Cleveland Funeral Services and Crematory. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Cleveland Funeral Services and Crematory Chapel conducted by Rev. Jerry Lail. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park Cemetery.
He leaves to honor and cherish his memory his wife, Lena Cook Hill, daughter Kelli Underhill and husband, Bryan of Stokesdale, NC, stepdaughter, Lynn D. Greene, and husband, Scott of Shelby, NC, two grandchildren, Dakota ad Ty Jones of Stokesdale, NC, four step grandchildren, Mackenzie and Ethan Greene of Shelby, NC, and Brittany and Bryan Underhill of New Hampshire.
Born March 15, 1939 in Shelby, Mr. Hill was the son of the late Foy and Ella Mae Hill and was also preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Hill of Brevard, NC. After graduating from Shelby High School, Mr. Hill went to work for PPG Industries where he retired after 42 years of service in Research and Development. Mr. Hill loved hunting, singing, music, and working in his shop. Mr. Hill was a member of Second Baptist Church in Shelby, NC.
Pallbearers will be Scott Greene, Mark Greene, Charlie Greene, Bryan Underhill, Steve Greene, David Hill and Daniel Hill. Honorary pallbearers are: Steve Grigg and Billy Thigpen.
The family would like to express a sincere thanks to the staff of Peak Resources in Cherryville, NC, Dr. Michael Ribadeneyra and staff, Dr. Forrest Thompson and staff, Healthy at Home, especially Carol and Dave and Hospice Cleveland County, especially Cherri Davis, Sheree and Miranda.
