Betty Waters Phillips

Mrs. Betty Arlene Waters Phillips, age 78 of Shelby, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 28, 2019.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Walker and husband Dana of Shelby, NC, a grandson, Matthew Daniel Walker of Shelby, NC, and two sisters, Blanch Elizabeth Carter of Shelby, NC, and Margaret Cole of Rutherfordton, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Phillips was born on August 17, 1940 in Bradley County, TN. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Ruth Taylor Waters and was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Phillips, a brother, Bud Waters, three sisters, Saree Ellis, Beatrice Waters, and Evelyn Waters, and a special niece, Toni Humphries.
Mrs. Phillips loved the Lord and was a member of Zoar Baptist Church in Casar, NC. She worked and retired from Ester Mills. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed taking beach excursions and shagging. Betty enjoyed life to the fullest and will be truly missed by those that knew her.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Zoar Baptist Church, 130 Zoar Church Road, Casar, NC 28020.
