Burnette Hayes

Burnette Norman Hayes, age 91 of Shelby, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 13, 2022.

She is survived by daughter, Angela Hayes of Kings Mountain, NC, a brother, Gene Norman and wife Ann of Shelby, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born October 31, 1930 in Cleveland County, NC, Burnette was the daughter of the late Emmit Hoss Norman and Ruby Turner Page and was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Gerald Edwin Hayes, a brother, Bobby Norman and a sister, Wanda Conley and her husband Ralph.

Burnette was a devoted wife, mother, and sister.  She was a faithful member of Westwood Heights Baptist Church.  Burnette owned and operated Hayes Beauty Boutique.  She and daughter loved to travel.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Cleveland Memorial Park conducted by Bishop Shannon Wright.  The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Westwood Heights Baptist Church, 650 Dellinger Road, Shelby NC 28152.
