Dr. Marvin Glenn Weber of Mooresboro, NC went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the age of 82. Dr. Weber was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 9, 1939 to Willett and Dorothy Weber. He was a College Professor of Sociology for 33 years. He taught locally in North and South Carolina and retired from Cleveland Community College. He was involved in his community in volunteer work such as the Emergency Assistance Program at Shelby Presbyterian Church and the Cleveland County Abuse Prevention Council. Dr. Weber had a lifelong passion for trains and photography. He was a member of the National Railroad Historical Society and the Carolina Clinchfield Chapter. Since childhood, he has been a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include Mary Ann Weber, his beloved wife of 57 years, three daughters, Winter Weber Whitney (John) of Kennesaw, Georgia, Lisa Weber Hoskins (Mark) of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Amy Weber Martinez (Jose) of Shelby, North Carolina; and his seven grandchildren: Adamson Burwell Whitney, Suzanne Scheer Whitney, Mary Celeste Whitney, Hannah Grace Hoskins, Meagan Elizabeth Hoskins, Gabriel Orlando Martinez and Logan Abel Martinez.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 25th from 1-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
A Funeral Service for Dr. Weber will be held Friday, 2:00 PM, February 25th at Cleveland Funeral Services at 2518 W. Dixon Blvd, Shelby NC 28152 with Rev. Drew Mangione officiating and burial following at Cleveland Memorial Park on 1225 College Avenue in Shelby.
