Obituary

Mr. Fay Thomas Padgett, 85, passed away Tuesday February 22, 2022 at Atrium Health-Cleveland. A native of Cleveland county, he was born February 11, 1937, son of the late Carl P. and Dora Wilson Padgett. He was a truck driver, retiring from ABF Trucking. He was also a founding member of Number 7 Fire Department in Lattimore.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley Hubbard Padgett of the home, two children; Scott Timothy Padgett (Lindsey) of Kings Mountain, Robbin Kelly Padgett (Greg Summers) of Shelby; two grandchildren, Matt Padgett (Mary) Chris Walker (Kezia); two step grandchildren Maddy and Mason Demetro; five sisters, Ruth Willis, Helen Tipton, Jane Camby, Elaine Dobbins (Ronnie), Matilda Hamrick; one brother, Steve Padgett.

A Funeral service will be held 11AM Monday in the chapel of Cleveland Funeral Service officiated by Rev. Greg Neely. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Cleveland Memorial Park immediately following the service.
