Jerry Chapman

Jerry Ernest Chapman, 62, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 5, 2021.

He is survived by his wife of over forty years, Brenda Lee Chapman of Ellenboro, NC, a son, Jeremy Chapman and wife Tamra of Otto, NC, two honorary granddaughters, Hailey and Maddison Watson of Rutherfordton, NC, two sisters, Jan Fisher of Asheville, NC and Patty Beard and husband Kyle of Asheville, NC, and a brother, Willie Butler and wife Angie of Forest City, NC as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Spartanburg County on March 7, 1959, Jerry was the son of the late Pete Chapman and Edna Butler. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Rick Chapman and a sister, Tammy Bryant.

Jerry was a faithful member of Royster Avenue Church of God for many years. He was an avid fan of Duke Basketball, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Washington Redskins. Jerry will be remembered for his hard work at PPG where he was employed for over 20 years. Jerry was a devoted family man, beloved by his son, his nieces Hailey and Maddison Watson and all those who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Royster Avenue Church of God in Shelby, NC with a visitation held one hour prior. Services will be officiated by the Rev. Richard L. Shores and the Rev. Jeremy K. Chapman.
