Venida Lewis

Venida Jewell Parker Lewis, 74, passed away on Saturday July 17, 2021 at Wendover Hospice.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Leo Dwight Justice, Sr., of Dallas, NC, four sons, Leo Dwight Justice, Jr. and wife, Trena of Gastonia, NC, James Justice of Dallas, NC, Ricky Justice of Dallas, NC, and Randall Eugene Justice and wife, Melissa of Dallas, NC, a daughter, Crystal Lynn Peterson and husband, Danny of Polkville, NC, fourteen grandchildren, Cristina Elswick and husband, Rex of Gastonia, NC, Richard Lovingood of Gastonia, NC, Rodger Bolton and wife, Dixie of Kings Mountain, NC, Josh Justice of Dallas, NC, Joseph Bolton of Panama City, FL, Lisa Bolton of Dallas, NC, Michael Peterson and wife, Kelsie of Polkville, NC, Nikki Justice of Charlotte, NC, Leann Justice of Gastonia, NC, David Peterson of Polkville, NC, and Kayla Justice of Polkville, NC, eleven great grandchildren, Azayla Bolton, Elena Justice, Bobby Justice, Kera Cooper, Safari Lamb, Gentry Dover, Khonlee Bolton, Billy Bolton, Madison Bolton, Rylan Bolton, and Isaiah Justice, three brothers, Stanley Parker, Sr. of Boiling Springs, NC, Lawson Parker of Lincolnton, NC, and Eugene Parker of Earl, NC, and a sister, Brenda Parker of Kentucky.

Born in Goldsboro, NC on April 29, 1947, Venida was the daughter of the late, James Arthur Parker and Louise Thompson Parker. Venida was also preceded in death by a husband, Burt Lawrence Lewis, a son, James Justice, a daughter in law, Tammy Justice,  two brothers, John Henry Parker and Walter Parker, Sr., and two sisters, Lillian Parker Branch and Dorothy Ann Parker.

Venida loved to dance. Venida worked at the Dover Mill for over 20 years where she will be remembered for being a hard worker. She loved making chili for her family but other than that she didn’t like to cook. Venida loved to eat out, especially the Riverside Fish Camp. Venida was a good mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her family and those that knew her.

A graveside service will be held at Westview Gardens Cemetery on Thursday July 22, 2021 at 10:00am. A visitation will be held at Cleveland Funeral Services on Wednesday July 21, 2021 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
